Today, Datadog metric collection from Harness requires application teams to manually include a DPE-provided template stage in every pipeline. Braintree does not use a centralized pipeline framework — teams build their own pipelines. Any team that omits the template stage produces no DORA or pipeline health metrics. decentralized structure, incomplete metrics are structurally guaranteed under the current model — there is no enforcement mechanism.
'Harness has no native capability for this today — teams must add the template.' A Datadog integration call was already scheduled for the week of Apr 20 — this item was flagged as formal intake.
We need account-level or org-level metric emission from Harness with zero per-pipeline template requirement. Every pipeline execution within the PayPal account should automatically emit to Datadog without any team action:
— Pipeline start, end, duration per stage/step
— Pass/fail outcome
— Queue time
— Executor identity
This must be a one-time platform-level configuration by DPE — not a per-pipeline obligation on application teams. Delivered via Harness webhook/event stream, OpenMetrics endpoint, or native Datadog forwarder.
Note: FR-8 covers the general Harness → Datadog integration gap. FR-13 specifically removes the template dependency.
