We would highly benefit from this functionality too, at the moment we have pipelines that have certain steps that have conditional execution based on environment.type, unfortunately the pipeline notify does not allow the ability to have conditional execution and would run for every pipeline. We also have the requirement to have individual notification steps, due to limitations in the Email step, that can't be used. I will raise a separate request for the email step.
